Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts do fun things with other kids! They get to
wear a cool uniform, go places, and see things. They
play all kinds of sports and build things, like race
cars and bird houses. Want to learn a secret code? Want
to learn about wild animals? If you're a boy in the
first through fifth grades (ages 7 to 10), go Cub
Scouting! For information Cub Scouting, see our
fact sheet about the program or click

Boy Scouts
Boy Scouts get away from
it all! They camp, hike, and fish in the great outdoors.
They get together in troops, and try out new
experiences. Boy Scouting is available to boys who are
11 through 17 years old, or who have earned the Arrow of
Light Award, or have completed the fifth grade. For
information about Boy Scouting, see our
fact sheet about the program. To visit our special

Exploring

Is part of the Learning
for Life career education program for young men and
women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade)
or 15 through 20 years old.
Exploring's purpose is to
provide experiences to help young people mature and to
prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
Explorers are ready to investigate the meaning of
interdependence in their personal relationships and
communities.
Exploring is based on a
unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the
organizations in their communities. Local community
organizations initiate an Explorer post by matching
their people and program resources to the interests of
young people in the community. The result is a program
of activities that helps youth pursue their special
interests, grow, and develop.
Explorer posts can
specialize in a variety of career skills. Exploring
programs are based on five areas of emphasis: career
opportunities, life skills, service learning, character
education, and leadership experience.
Some of the Explorer
Posts currently in our council: law enforcement, teen
toastmasters, fire fighters, medical, and environment.
